Responding to the concept of being untethered - five contemporary artists find ways to navigate a radically changing world. The artworks engage with a sense of freedom associated with letting go of familiarity. Themes of weightlessness, ethereality and transcendence are balanced against grounded states and earthy connections to nature. Through mediums of painting, video, sculpture and immersive installation, the artists uncover a dialogue between spirituality and mortality.

Colleen’s work for Untethered reflects the contrasts of release and grounding experienced through a life spent with hands in soil. In addition to six framed pieces, Colleen will also be showing her first installation work, Among the Gentle Voices, comprising nearly 100 delicate paper botanicals suspended and dreamlike.
